If you haven’t checked out my site yet my name is Megan. I’m 23 years old, live in Florida, and just recently became vegan. For a few months now I’ve done all the research I could on being vegan as well as animal rights. The more I learn the more I want to get involved. Right now there are so many things I want to do I have a hard time getting anything accomplished. Before I really get involved I’m still in the research phase. I listen to a few pod casts, compassionate cooks, animal voices, and vegan freak. And I’ve ordered several books and documentaries. In the near future I hope to visit ‘farms’ and see for myself how horrific the animals living conditions are. If anyone has any suggested reading or informational guidance feel free to share.

I recommend:
Animal Liberation by Peter Singer (the gospel, basically – if you haven’t already read it)
The Pig Who Sang to the Moon by Jeffrey Masson (learn about animals’ natural behaviors and then see how it compares to their lives in factory farms).
Veganomicon, the cookbook (my god it’s good!)
Peaceable Kingdom, a documentary (changed my life forever)
Good luck!!
I actually have the book just havent had time to read it yet. I listen to a podcast called vegan freaks, and they talk a lot of smak about peter singer, but i still bought the book to form my own opinion. oh i’ve heard so much about peaceable kingdom, i tried to buy it a few months ago but it wasnt ready for the re-release yet. thanks for the recommendations!
